/ What We Are Looking For The Manufacturing Engineer should have a strong technical background and experience in electro-mechanical design, assembly processes, and test as well as a high level of knowledge in mechanical product design and development in multi-discipline teams through New Product Introduction (NPI).
Additional experience in product sustaining is also highly desirable.
The Manufacturing Engineer must be a leader, strategic thinker and problem solver.
He/she must successfully combine detailed technical knowledge with operations and project/program management.
He/she should be well organized, disciplined and self-motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities related to operations and organizational goals.
He/she must be able to communicate with internal company personnel, as well as customers, suppliers, and third parties with equal effectiveness and professionalism.
What You Will Do Works with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, industrial, and process teams to co-develop mechanical, hardware and software solutions to integrate into manufacturing and/or product sustaining applications; apply principles of mechanical engineering and mathematical analysis.
Provide robust design solutions to address critical system issues.
Perform life cycle testing of new designs to ensure reliability.
Collaborates with other Engineering groups to improve or upgrade product performance.
Debugs complex mechanical assemblies and hardware.
Evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications.
This position requires involvement with the production and materials functions as well as customer service and support functions.
Through partnerships with the production personnel, the Manufacturing Engineer will ensure the required technical support for all critical process and product issue resolution as well as technical direction and support for all product builds and process operations.
Able to interpret test specifications from Engineering in order to write test plans as required.
Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
Support test technicians by troubleshooting difficult problems and instructing the technicians in techniques to resolve these issues.
Develop test equipment and test assemblies to aid the technicians in isolating problems.
Drive improvements in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface and product quality.
He/she is responsible for associated metrics, product support and new process development/qualification.
Coordinate technical development schedule and Supply Chain phase deliverables with Program/Project Manager.
Assignments will include system integration, software/hardware validation, requirements definition, DFM/DFT, design for EMI and safety compliance, managing compliance documentation and testing, troubleshooting production equipment, and developing functional test assemblies for manufacturing.
Develops and maintains standard processes and training documents for the production line.
Consult and work to develop functional test hardware for board level and hardware assemblies.
Support testing and sustained maintenance of the current electrical and firmware systems based on the feedback of Quality Assurance and customers.
Prioritize and communicate product sustaining issues across product lines and regions in coordination with project/program management.
What You Will Need Education and Training Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Preferred experience applying lean six sigma tools in a production environment.
Superb communications skills.
Proficient with SolidWorks.
Experience Poka-yoke and mistake proofing experience.
Background in quality systems a plus.
Ability to understand and implement PPAP, FMEA and Control Plans.
Working with Product Development, advising on manufacturing processes& on DFX.
Electromechanical design.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Practices continuous improvement methodologies including lean manufacturing, root cause problem solving, value stream mapping, etc.
to improve production efficiencies and key performance metrics.
Action oriented with ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience.
Solid knowledge of technical report preparation, engineering documentation and print standards, electrical and mechanical machinery safety.
Preferred Product development experience (gates, etc) Lean Six sigma training.
