Summary:
Jeppesen is improving flight planning for users across all of our flight planning applications. To do this, the core components of our flight planning system are being updated to enhance our customers' ability to increase profitability through cost optimization and operational efficiency, as well as streamline integration with their other flight operations systems. The User Experience Design Specialist will work both independently and collaboratively with the business, users, relevant industry groups and project teams to bring a holistic, innovative and user-centric design discipline to the development of these core flight planning components. Activities required to accomplish this goal are expected to include, but not limited to, usability analyses, interaction design documentation, and prototype user interfaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Work directly with business leaders, users and other aviation stakeholders to develop strategies / specifications to improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of our flight planning applications.
Develop and maintain interaction design patterns and user interface architectures ( as required ). Ensure viability of design patterns and architectures with the Product Development organization.
Analyze the project's needs at various stages and ensure relevant user research activities are performed ( e.g. research / test protocols and questionnaires, primary user research, user profiling, analytics, usability testing, etc. ).
Work independently or with other UX colleagues and project teams to identify and define interaction and usability requirements for the optimum user experience.
Work with business clients to ensure that the user interaction patterns meet the desired business requirements during all phases of the project.
Manage consulting / contractor staff in execution of UX activities for assigned projects.
Partner with business analysts, architects, system engineers and business clients to deliver high quality, holistic and innovative solutions.
Provide leadership on a large project that involves abstract development within a larger, increasingly complex, system of systems. Participate in project meetings with other technical staff, business owners and subject matter experts.
Assess and develop high-level design requirements for flight planning features and communicate these requirements across development teams through appropriate means. Reconcile detailed system specifications with design requirements.
Review development activities to ensure compliance with overall design goals and standards. Guide developers on technical issues as needed.
Develop or review test protocols for testing interaction design / prototypes for user acceptance. Review test results and direct further development.
Support creation / revision of technical documentation ( e.g. user guides, help guides, API integration documentation, etc. ) for both current and future applications.
Mentor or guide work of less experienced colleagues.
Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, or related disciplines. Desired: Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, or related disciplines. Strong understanding of cloud services, reference architectures, data flows and design patterns.

years relevant technical experience with emphasis on systems and user interface analysis and design, with skills in the following areas: Information architecture and UX design and/or UI design.
Specialized training in any of the following is highly required: Human Factors, Interaction Design, User Experience Research, Aviation, Aviation Technology, Airline Operations, User Experience Modeling.
Deep understanding of aviation and/or aviation technology desired. Experience with network planning, flight planning, dispatch, and flight deck operations is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for, user centered design principles.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to successfully communicate design rationale to a mixed audience.
Ability to map user experience requirements to overall system design ( architecture, data models, etc. ).
Flexibility to work on wide ranging, dependent projects.
Proficiency with standard software tools for development of wireframes and high fidelity prototype and graphics.
Experience leading UX best practices and processes across a large, heterogeneous portfolio of projects.
Experience with UI design gap analysis and subsequent mitigation plans.
Extensive User Experience and product management background.
Strong research and analysis skills.
Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean UX methodologies.
Experience developing and implementing UX programs within large institutions.
Proven record of providing deliverables while working across multiple cross-functional teams to accomplish shared goals.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
